1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
The Library offers parents an exciting incentive program that encourages families to read 1000 books with their child before he or she enters senior kindergarten in school. It is free with your library card membership. Keep track of the titles of the books that you read with your child. Earn prizes as you work towards you goal! Poems in the Parkette
Pick up a form at the library and submit a poem about scarecrows, autumn, or this year’s Scarecrow Invasion theme “Peace, Love & Happiness.” Poetry submissions are due by September 28. Poems will be on display in the Library Parkette beginning October 2.

Write @ Your Library – Teen Creative Writing Contest
Submit short stories, poetry, and designs for the front cover for a chance to win up to $100 in cash prizes!

Georgian Bay Reads
Five local libraries are pleased to present an evening of laughter and spirited debate as their Defenders engage in a fast-paced discussion to prove that their Canadian book deserves the trophy.
In each round, the defenders answer questions regarding their chosen book, critique the others, and set up alliances to determine which book stays, and which book goes. Witticisms and wisecracks fly as each defender attempts to prove why their book is the best.

Tech Help is generally available Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and bi-weekly Thursday from 10 am – 12 pm and Sunday from 12 pm – 2 pm
