1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
The Library offers parents an exciting incentive program that encourages families to read 1000 books with their child before he or she enters senior kindergarten in school. It is free with your library card membership. Keep track of the titles of the books that you read with your child. Earn prizes as you work towards you goal! Walk the Length of the Odyssey

A 10-week (not years) community movement challenge! Walk, run, bike, rollerblade… just get moving!
Keep track of your steps or km travelled and submit them weekly to asolecki@meaford.ca. The participant who travels the furthest will win a heroic-age prize.
Let’s see if we can walk 8,043 km, Odysseus’s journey home from Troy to Ithaca.
Join the Club! Visit the library to register, pick up your reading kit, and begin your summer reading adventure! Children can earn ballots as they read. Earn 1 ballot for every: 5 picture books, 3 graphic novels, or 1 chapter book. There will be draws for prizes every week until August 29. Teens (ages 13-19) can earn a ballot for every YA/adult book read this summer and enter for a chance to win one of three fantastic prizes (generously sponsored by the Friends of Meaford Library): Nintendo Switch Lite (grand prize), $50 Indigo gift card, or $25 Pom Pom’s gift card. Maximum 15 Ballots. Last day to enter is August 29.

Record what you have achieved in your Summer Library Challenge Booklet and have it stamped by the library team to receive a ballot. Each completed challenge earns a ballot for a chance to win a monthly prize. *Prizes will be drawn at the end of each month.
