Georgian Trail Pedestrian Bridge (BR-125)


Introduction

This project will replace Structure 125, a pedestrian bridge on the Georgian Trail just north of Edwin Street, where the trail crosses Meaford Creek. The goal of the project is to improve safety and provide a durable, long-term crossing for trail users.

Project Description

This project includes: 

  • Completing a Schedule B Municipal Class Environmental Assessment including a review of design alternatives 
  • Removing the existing bridge, if required as part of the final design 
  • Construction of the preferred solution identified through the Class EA process 
  • Making trail adjustments and restoring the surrounding area once construction is complete
